Keep my commands and you will live;
guard my teachings as the apple of your eye.
Bind them on your fingers;
write them on the tablet of your heart.
Last Sunday Pastor Sam preached on the importance of having a close and intimate relationship with God. The reading came from Proverbs 7:2, which shows that God wants to be close to his people. Pastor Sam emphasized that ritual and traditions can be a good, however, they can never be a substitute for a living relationship with God. We need to make room to spend time with God – to allow Him to guide our lives – and not just ‘go through the motions’.
